Not Awesome: When A Food Wasn't What You Expected

It’s happened to everyone once or twice. Something seems so amazing, so wonderful, so fantastic that you just HAVE to do it! Buying something off the internet, seeing a movie, buying a CD … Sometimes we build something up in our minds so big, that the reality is no where close to what our expectations were.

This happens all the time in the WLS community. So often we see a food item and we think, “I just HAVE to have a bite of that!” So, we take one. And it was NOTHING like we thought it would be!

I can’t count the number of times this has happened to me. The most recent example was when I bought a “diet” candy bar (I’m sure you've seen the brand with the pretty little cow on the front …) thinking, “I can have a square of this and be satisfied” which is usually true. I unwrap it slowly, and marvel at how cute and little the squares of caramel-filled chocolate were. Then I took a bite. And another. As I let the chocolate melt on my tongue, I thought … “Well, THAT wasn't awesome …” In fact, it was borderline nasty! I was left unsatisfied, and still had a chocolate craving. Lesson learned: I would have been much better off getting the real deal and taking a bite of it! Then I would have been satisfied with that tiny little something.

Other times have included: Fried chicken, coffee, fruit, baked goods, etc … Somehow it always seems to revolve around things I’m NOT supposed to have!

Moral of the story:
Eating something not on plan is usually NOT WORTH IT!!

Here's this weeks Meal Plan! It's a little different this week because of a SUPER TIGHT budget! But it just goes to show that you CAN eat on plan for just a little $$!
